DRUMMING AND CLAY!
Wow! What a busy few weeks we have had in Year 2!
We had Joshua, an African drumming teacher, come and visit us. He taught us how to keep a beat and we had to follow his, listening very carefully to how and when he changed the beat and copy it back. We had lots of fun and it was incredibly loud!
Then we had Victoria Houghton visit us and give us a clay work experience. We made lion head models and we will be painting them and bringing them home soon! We had to follow her instructions very carefully and listen to her hints and tips. We learnt that we use slip to stick the clay together and we make the parts into pea or malteaser shapes to ensure they are the correct size!
2D have been very busy getting ready for their assembly and they can’t wait to show you!!
Have a look HERE for some photos from these activities.
Please can parents make sure they are reading 3x a week so children can go up the reading rocket. Also please continue to practice counting forwards and backwards to a hundred, adding ten to any number and subtracting ten from any number.
Thank you.
