YEAR 4's MUSICAL ADVENTURE WITH ORCHESTRA UNWRAPPED

This term, Year 4 had the incredible opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of music with a visit from Orchestra Unwrapped!

This special workshop was not only interactive but also a fantastic way to prepare for their trip to the Corn Exchange, where they experienced a live orchestra in action.

During the workshop, the children were introduced to four fascinating instruments: the trombone, trumpet, clarinet, and double bass. They explored the unique characteristics of each instrument, from the deep, rich tones of the double bass to the bright, bold sounds of the trumpet. They were captivated by the way each instrument produced sound, discovering how breath, strings, and brass work together to create music.

But the excitement didn’t stop there! The musicians performed a variety of songs, showcasing the instruments' versatility and giving the children a taste of different musical styles. The real magic happened when the children had the chance to collaborate and create their own musical pieces to accompany the instruments. Their creativity and enthusiasm filled the room as they experimented with rhythms and melodies, making for a truly unforgettable experience.

The workshop was a massive hit, leaving the children inspired and eager for more with a newfound appreciation for orchestral music.
