goodbye YEAR 4!
It has been such a lovely year this year. Mrs Tellett and Miss Tyrrell have really loved watching the children grow and make such amazing progress in their learning. The children have made some great progress in their swimming, with many of them now progressing to swimming without tummy bands.
The trips this year have been great. From the residential at the start of the year, where the children went out of their comfort zone to try many new activities, having lots of fun in the process, we also enjoyed visiting different places of worship during our faith tour. We were taken on tours around a Church, a Gurdwara and a Mosque, we went on a field trip in the local area to the local shops which allowed us to do a little bit of ‘town planning’ in Geography.
Finally we went for a year group meal to ‘Indian Summer’ to celebrate a fantastic year, we even stopped off for ice creams and a play in Bedford park on the way home. (Photo's HERE)
Outdoor learning has also been fun during our morning sessions we have made bird feeders, helped Mrs Griffin organise the outdoor garden and plant some of our own plants, made smores, built dens and had free play!
We have also had some lovely visitors come into the school such as the GB athlete, Chris Tawiah, who spoke to us in assembly and then helped us with a very exciting PE lesson. Also the skipping Ninja inspired us to get skipping in the summer term.
We also enjoyed the opportunities for the parents to come into the school this year to watch our class assemblies, read with the children during reading mornings and our sports day just a few weeks ago.
We have done lots of learning this year and have really enjoyed making smoothies and sock puppets in DT, learning what decimals are in maths, learning about electricity in Science and learning about the Vikings, Anglo- Saxons and Ancient Greeks in History.
We hope you have a lovely summer and will see you in September :)
