The children have settled very well and the have started their topic: Marvellous Me! We have enjoyed drawing self-portraits and painting pictures of our faces. This week we have started to learn about how we can keep ourselves healthy by eating lots of fruits and vegetables. We enjoyed listening to the stories 'Oliver's Fruit Salad' and 'Oliver's Vegetables'. The children shared with their friends what fruits and vegetables they like to eat. 

We then looked at the artwork by the artist Giuseppe Arcimboldo. He is best known for making facial portraits out of fruits and vegetables. So, we decided to have a go ourselves! We practised our cutting skills and cut out pictures of fruits and vegetables. We then positioned them on a paper plate to make a funny face. To see our artwork, please click HERE!
