NEW TOPICS IN YEAR 3!
We have all settled back in well to life in Year 3. A new term has brought new topics and the children are enjoying everything.
We have moved onto our new class novel - Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and have been creating character descriptions of either Charlie or Grandpa Joe. We are only 4 chapters into the book and are keen to hear more about Charlie’s story.
Maths has been challenging this week as the children were introduced to scaling problems and are learning how to scale up and down using division or multiplication.
DT has caused much excitement as we found out that we are working towards making our own bread. This also means that we will be having a tasting session soon and have already learnt lots about Thomas and Ellen Warburton who began the Warburton brand in 1870.
History brings us the invasion of the Roman Empire and is linked to the great Roman songs the children are learning in music with Mrs Frost.
The children have been introduced to Sikhism in RE and are making lots of comparisons to other religions they have learnt about up to Year 3.
We think it’s going to be a fun filled term!
