NARRATIVES AND SWIMMING WITH A LITTLE BIT OF SINGING!

Learning continues in leaps and bounds for the whole of Year 5.  Already we are over a month into the year with the children settling in really well and adapting to the shift upwards in pace and expectations.

In English we will exploring narratives concerning villains – Darth Vadar, Captain Hook and The Wicked Witch of the West; how many villains can you remember?  During maths lessons, we will continue to work through the four basic operations – addition, subtraction, multplication and division.

We are so looking forward to our first outdoor learning days.  We're sure they will be packed full of mud and can't wait to go into the garden with Mrs Griffin.

Swimming has also commenced with the children being thrown in at the deep end (no pun intended!) after being away from the pool for a few months.  This vital skill is so important in a place such as Bedford with its assortment of rivers, ponds and lakes.

Harvest festival is looming on the horizon and is always a worthwhile celebration of the fruits of the field and the farm.  Year 5 have been practising their year group song with enthusiasm and dedication and those of you attending the assemblies will be in for a good show.

Looking beyond half term, we enter the sparkly season of fun, cards and tinsel and I’m sure the run-up to Christmas will bring a multitude of festive activities and events.

Denali have now had their outdoor learning morning, have a look HERE at the photos.
