EYFS Blog - 3rd may 2016
Hello everyone and welcome to the weekly Reception blog!
The children's creative writing task this week was to imagine they had an egg and anything they wished for could come out of it. This led to some very interesting ideas including, "Out of my egg came a rainbow. I will slide down it to the beach. I am going to play all day." We have also been working hard on investigating the properties of 3D shapes - counting the number of faces belonging to different shapes and matching these solid shapes to everyday items in our world. In the hall we had lots of fun practising our parachute skills including running underneath it to swap places with a friend!
Next week we will be looking at the story of 'The Ant and the Grasshopper' and discussing the moral of the story. We are going to have a circle time to discuss ideas of things we would like to be able to do and we are going to write a letter to Jemima all about ourselves so that she can read the letters to her ducklings. In our mathematics we are going to focus on problem-solving.
Over the weekend it would be brilliant if the children could practise writing capital letters - we are all getting much better at them but practise would make perfect!
