Week commencing Monday 6th February 2017
Hello! Welcome to our weekly Reception blog!
Firstly, many thanks to all of our parents for being so supportive of our parent consultation evenings - we find this time invaluable as it allows us to get the 'bigger picture' of your child and we hope you have found the sessions to be informative and a celebration of your children's achievements!
This week we have all gone a little bit batty - look on the display boards around our classrooms and in the corridor for our 'clothes pegs bats'. We have learned many bat facts and have incorporated these into our sentence writing. In mathematics we have been thinking about time and have used computer programs to sequence our day.
After the half-term break we move our focus from non-fiction to traditional tales with a woodland theme and our first story will be Goldilocks and the Three bears. We will read several versions of the story allowing the children to consider different story beginnings and their 'have a go' writing will focus on story beginnings. In our mathematics we will be focusing on working with numbers to 20 and missing number sequences.
