Week commencing Monday 9th January 2017
Welcome back to our weekly Reception blog!
We have had a fabulous start to our week with a visit from the Bird of Prey centre, where the children all had the opportunity to touch a European Eagle owl and watch owls and a kestrel fly around the school hall! We have also been busy practising our addition and subtraction and using the appropriate maths vocabulary. Mrs Mackay's class have also been very busy practising their class assembly which will be held on Friday 20th January at 9.00 a.m. in the school hall. - we hope you will be able to join us!
Next week we are continuing to focus on owls and will be enjoying the story of the 'Owl Babies' by Martin Waddell. In our mathematics, we will be introducing money and it would be great if, over the weekend, your children could look at some of the coins we use and then name them. The children are also welcome to bring in items from home to place in the 'school shop' which we will set up in our classrooms.
